Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Surf City Social (“we,” “us”), a social media management business in Huntington Beach, California, handles information in connection with this website, surfcity-social.com (the “Site”). Questions? Email jeff@surfcity-social.com.
Information we collect
- Information you choose to send us. The Site has no forms or accounts. If you call us or email us using the links on the Site, we receive what you provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, business name and anything you write or tell us.
- Basic technical information. Like almost every website, the company that hosts the Site may automatically record standard server log information when a page is requested, such as IP address, browser type, date and time, and the page requested. The host uses this to deliver the Site and keep it secure. We don’t use it to identify you or build a profile of you.
We do not collect sensitive personal information through the Site.
How we use it
We use the information you send us only to respond to you, talk with you about our services, provide services you sign up for, and keep ordinary business records (for example, emails and invoices).
No selling or sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We may share information only (a) with service providers who help us run the business, such as our email and phone providers, and only as needed for them to do that; (b) if required by law or legal process; or (c) to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Cookies, tracking and third parties
The Site does not use cookies, analytics tools, advertising pixels, social media plug-ins or other tracking technology. All fonts and images are hosted on the Site itself, so viewing a page does not load content from third-party services. No third party is allowed to collect personally identifiable information about your online activity over time or across websites through the Site.
The phone and email links simply open your own phone or email app. Your phone carrier and email provider handle those messages under their own privacy policies.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because the Site doesn’t track visitors over time or across websites, there is nothing for the signal to turn off, and every visitor is treated the same way whether or not DNT is on.
Children’s privacy
The Site is meant for business owners and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email jeff@surfcity-social.com and we will delete it.
How long we keep information and how we protect it
We keep emails and business records only as long as we need them to respond to you, provide services, or meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. We use reasonable safeguards to protect them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices: access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see the personal information we have about you, correct it, or delete it by emailing jeff@surfcity-social.com with the subject line “Privacy request.” We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we may keep records we are legally required to keep.
California residents
We respect the privacy rights of California residents. Given our size, we may not be subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Whether or not it applies, we do not sell or share personal information, and any visitor can make the access, correction and deletion requests described above. Under California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code § 1798.83), you may ask whether we have disclosed personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We have not.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date below. If a change is significant, we will also note it at the top of this page.
